Farm Mapping

Map your farm to display landmarks, hazards, waterlines and more

What's on a Map?

We will first build a base map and then add layers on top for each specific map type you want.

Base maps typically include:

Paddock Boundaries
Paddock Numbers
Paddock sizes

Buildings

Additions to the base map can include:

Hazards
Waterlines
Irrigation Areas
Other specific requests

The Creation Process

Step 1
Gathering Existing Data

To help with constructing the map, it's ideal to gather what you already have and sketch out what you don't have yet so we can get an idea of what is needed.

Step 2
Obtaining Aerial Imagery

Next, we need a geospatial reference to build your map. Typically we will come out to your farm and use a drone to take aerial photos.

This could take a couple of hours and will need to be a clear day.

Step 3
Creating The Map

Using the information provided and images of your farm, we will create your map.

Step 4
Feedback

After creating the map, we will show you the current state and check for any errors or ask if you want any changes.

Step 5
Delivery

Once the map is finalised, we will get the physical copies created and sent to you.

Future Enhancements

Modifying your farm map once it's complete is easy. Should your farm change or you need features added or removed, we can do so without the need to create a brand new map.

Similarly, if you're looking to add features like hazards, waterlines, irrigation areas or any other specific requests, we can do so at a fraction of the original cost.

Shapefiles

We can provide shapefiles to be used by other applications like Trev, HawkEye, MyBallance, TracMap/Tabula and many other apps and websites.

If needed, we can also provide other formats like GeoJSON and KML.
